Beavers
Beavers are active on the Shawsheen. The quiet paddler or hiker can spot them easily, especially in the early morning and early evening.
At times these productive occupants of the Shawsheen can become a problem for landowners. The SRWA normally works with
Beaver Solutions, LLC (
www.beaversolutions.com).
The SRWA will usually pay for the initial problem assessment.
Dam Removal and River Restoration
There is an active initiative underway to remove the dams on the Shawsheen. This will help to restore the river to a more
natural state and should provide a variety of ecological benefits to the river. Find our more by clicking

Invasive Species Management
The SRWA does a tremendous amount of work to control invasive species along the Shawsheen River and within the Shawsheen River watershed.
